If I had to pick a single tool in my gardening arsenel, this would be it: The multi-purpose classic Hori Hori knife from BareBones.
What do I use it for? The better question might be how DON’T I use it.
It’s great for:
- Weeding
- Opening bags of potting soil
- Cutting twine
- Planting (great for bulbs and seeds becasue of the depth markers on the blade)
- Digging
- Sawing off small branches
- Opening the occasional chore beer
This beautifully designed tool is made to last. I’ve had mine for 5 years so far, and have beat it up (lost it and left outside, dropped it, stepped on it, not cleaned it)! I have no doubt it will eventually be passed down through several generations of gardeners in the family. You can feel and see the quality in this tool from the first time you pick it up.
- Constructed from Stainless Steel: Heat-tempered 6 ¾” stainless steel blade for optimal strength, with a serrated edge on one side, and a smooth, sharp edge on the other
- Beautiful walnut, erganomic handle
